St. Clare’s Hospital and Nursery was founded by Dr. Dionisio P. Lirio, D.M.D. and Engr. Leopoldo C. Del Rosario in January 1972. The name was derived from St. Clare’s Hospital Schenectady, one of the prestigious hospitals in New York City, wherein Dr. Lirio’s sons namely Ricardo and Oscar actually had their extensive training.
In 1987 the original name was changed to St. Clare’s Hospital and became St. Clare’s Medical Center, Incorporated by year 1992 and has remained as such until the present. Furthermore St. Clare’s Medical Center is 75 bed capacity tertiary level hospitals.
Today’s, St. Clare’s Medical Center has already achieved the status of being one of the reputable medical centers in the city of Makati. It offers a wide range of medical and healthcare services in Surgical, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatric care, Physical and Occupational Therapy and other specialized medical services.
It is equipped with 2 Operating & Delivery Rooms, Imaging & Diagnostic services, a 24-hour pharmacy, ambulance services, Laboratory & nursery services. We recently acquired several state of-the- art medical equipment, such as 4D Echo & Hemodialysis machine, C-ARM, Laparoscopy, Mammography, and Treadmill to further enhance the Hospital’s Medical services. At present we have the Medical Arts Building with 14 clinic rooms used by 80 doctors to meet the requirement of the growing medical staff and we have 175 employees.
Inspired by its mission to contribute to betterment of the community it serves St. Clare’s still continues to provide a wealth of quality medical services by developing new medical services and facilities making it more prepared to meet new challenges that may arise. We are a tertiary covid hospital accepting 30 percent.
