St. Clare's Hospital and Nursery was founded by Dr. Dionosio P. Lirio, D.M.D. and Engr. Leopoldo C. Del Rosario in January 1972. The name was derived from St. Clare's Hospital Schenectady, one of the prestigious hospitals in New York City, wherein Dr. Lirio's sons namely Ricardo and Oscar actually had their extensive training. St. Clare's Hospital and Nursery was known to many mothers at that era.
In 1987 the original name was changed to St. Clare's Hospital and became St. Clare's Medical Center
Incorporated by year 1992 and has remained as such until the present. Furthermore St. Clare's Medical Center, Inc. is 75 bed capacity tertiary level hospitals.
